damaged hair

I have been using sun in for 10 yrs without any problems. I have long blonde hair but my naural colour is medium to dark brown. I have been on many hoilday to hot desinations and my hair has always been fine but recently I have been to egypt and my hair is really damaged on one side. I have tried expensive deep conditioning treatment but nothing is working. I will have to let the damage grow out but I also now know that I need to change my hair dye but don't know how too. I have thought about a highlighting kits just for the roots as I love the colour of my hair with the sun in but am so unsure and all the reviews about dyes on the internet just confuse me even more. pls help what should I do

The sun in is much less damaging than a highlighting kit. I would just keep using your Sun in...a highlighting kit would take away all your effort to restore your hair. Try using a hot oil treatment or a conditioning hair mask (ones from department stores around 6 bucks) one a week. Leave them on your hair for 30 minutes instead of the 5 minutes they ask for. Wrap a warm towel fresh outta the dryer around your head to make sure the treatments really soak in. Use a leave in conditioner before you go out in the sun. The sun can dry out the moisture in your hair. Also use a pick to comb out your hair in the shower while you have your daily conditioner on it. It keeps the breakage to a minimum when u brush it out.
