You should be able to but I would advise getting this done at a salon rather than attempting it yourself. A friend of mine went from blonde to brunette. She has naturally dark blonde hair which she used to have highlighted. She then went dark brown but had it done at the salon to ensure it didn't go wrong. She now dyes it herself using shop bought dye without any problems.
