Hair Color Help

My natural hair color is medium brown with natrual red highlights in it. I recently got it dyed a light ash brown to get rid of some of the red and to lighten my hair up. It turned out a little lighter but the red is worse now. I really hate the red in my hair and really want to eventually have a dark ash blonde or dark dirty blonde hair color and for the red to be out. What should I do? What should I tell my hair stylist to do on my hair?
